Every Portrait Tells a Story...

My client grew up dancing the hula and had passed down one special dance to her daugher. To celebrate her daughter's tenth birthday and their shared love of hula, she commissioned this vintage portrait along with their custom dresses. She wanted to capture a mother's past, a daughter's future and the inescapable Hawaiian spirit of ohana (family) and aloha (love). Since I was raised in Hawaii, we connected immediately and were able to create a legacy that will be proudly passed down from generation to generation. Throughout the process of creating, selecting and framing this portrait, many special things happened. A friend was made, a door was opened, hearts were touched, a legacy was created.
